A series of illustrations exploring our perception of emotion. We tend to attribute human characteristics and feelings to animals, which are usually completely wrong. A monkey that looks like it’s smiling is actually displaying aggression, and greyhounds aren’t always overcome with sorrow, despite looking like they are.
This project looks to explore the full spectrum of human emotion (taken from a psychological theory called Plutchik’s Wheel of Emotions), displayed by a range of animals.
